2019 Bible Reading Challenge

Walter Lane has challenged the church to read the New Testament through by the end of the year! If you accept this challenge please click on the reading plan here.

2019 Bible Reading Challenge Progress: As of December 1, 2019, 73 participants have accepted the Bible Reading Challenge and read a total of 2768 books of the Bible -  14 of the participants have read 66 or more books.

1)  Pray for God's guidance in your decision to commit to daily Bible reading and pray for the Netherwood family as we take on this challenge, 2) Commit and 3) Choose your plan. We are offering the following Bible Reading plans in 2019, shown below. If you don't want to use one of these, then various other plans may be found here.

1) The traditional approach is to read the Bible straight through. You can download the plan here: Straight Through the Bible Reading Plan

2) The second Bible reading plan consists of 52 weekly readings for the year. The reading plan is formatted in seven columns: The Epistles, The Law, History, Psalms, Poetry, Prophecy, and the Gospels. Each day of the week you will read anywhere from one to six chapters out of a different part of the Bible. You will also cover one or more chapters out of each major area of the Bible. By switching areas daily you are less likely to get bogged down reading an area that you might not currently find interesting. The second plan is furnished courtesy of http://www.bible-reading.com. It can be viewed and downloaded in PDF format by clicking here.
