At the beginning each of the last several years we have selected a new theme for Netherwood to help provide a unifying focus in what we teach and preach and to aid in planning the year’s curriculum, events and activities. And then came 2020! And while our 2020 Theme, ‘No One Left Behind’ turned out to be incredibly appropriate, it wasn’t because it fit in with our plans and visions for the year. If we learned anything from this year it is that our plans and our visions were at the mercy of the year’s storms and trials.
So, as we enter a new year filled with uncertainty, we are going to adopt as our theme and focus on the one thing guaranteed to help us through anything 2021 can throw at us – standing On Solid Ground.
Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. (Matthew 7:24-27)
